GreenZyme® solution catalyzes the reaction between oil, the rock or sand formation and water. Acting on polar forces, it has been proven to reduce Interfacial Tension (IFT) and change wettability to mobilize the oil.
GreenZyme® changed the adhesion behavior of oil to non-adhesion, promoting oil to slide off formation rock or sand. GreenZyme® is not a chemical.
It is a water based, inert enzyme concentrate made from DNA of oil eating microbes that facilitates the completion of biological reactions affecting polar and viscous forces reducing IFT while changing the wettability of the formation, GreenZyme® releases trapped oil out of the formation.

GreenZyme® is the world’s first Biological Liquid Enzyme that is a protein based non-living catalyst used in EOR both onshore and offshore; GreenZyme® catalyzes the reaction between oil, the rock or sand formation and water. Acting on polar forces, it has been proven to reduce Interfacial Tension (IFT) and changing wettability to mobilize and release the trapped oil.
GreenZyme® adheres and releases new hydrocarbons until it reaches the solid surface. Then the enzyme form a membrane on the surface, causing a permanent change in wetting to enzyme-water wet surface. Since GreenZyme® is not consumed or altered in this process; they are free to interact and release new hydrocarbons.

Environmental Tolerance

Because GreenZyme® is a nonliving, DNA based catalyst; it is immune to adverse environmental conditions occurring within the formation.
GreenZyme® is immune to:

• Radioactive isotopes and NORM
• Metallic ions and sulfur
• Hydrogen sulphide content
• Paraffins, Naphthatenes, Or Asphaltenes
• Residual chemical and microbe EOR treatments
